The Role:
As a Senior UNIX / Linux Infrastructure Expert, you will play a vital role in managing our Midrange Unix Infrastructure. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior infrastructure engineers, providing technical leadership to application teams, and advancing troubleshooting capabilities i.e. Level 2/ Level 3 support across the Midrange environments. You will work with project and application teams to understand the business needs, be able to articulate the business need into a technical solution which is secure by design and focused on automation to introduce efficiency and innovation. You will also be a key contributor to introduce the resiliency and reduction of technical debt in our Midrange infrastructure environment by undertaking upgrades, patching and migrations to the new platforms.
Skills and Experience Required:
•Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems.
•Experience with IBM AIX Operating Systems.
•Experience with creating detailed technical documentation, e.g. as-built documents, operational hand over documents, support guides, standard operating procedures.
•Experience in working collaboratively with networking, compute, storage, security engineers and architects to coordinate deployment and management of components.
•Experience in working with vendors and internal resources to ensure delivery of solutions meets requirements.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. 12 month contract with extension options pending budget and delegate approval. Work 3 days from the office and 2 days from home.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required for this role.
