Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (SFIA 5) to assist with delivering the technical management of project and product activities, and assure the successful delivery of the investments, including development of GEOINT collection capabilities from government submission through to products in sustainment.

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (SFIA 5) to assist with delivering the technical management of project and product activities, and assure the successful delivery of the investments, including development of GEOINT collection capabilities from government submission through to products in sustainment.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Takes responsibility for planning, development and implementation of activities to meet project and strategic requirements.
- Apply established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies.
- Identify risks and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- Build and sustain stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with, influence and negotiate effectively.
- Influence and motivate team members and, where appropriate, actively lead group activities.
- Analyse and interpret project performance against agreed plans and develop and evaluate strategies to achieve project outcomes.
- Takes the initiative to resolve issues and risks by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications.
- Accountable to manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organisational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project.
- Responsible for the management of schedule, risk, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Accountable for including providing clear and consistent communication. Prepare correspondence, briefs and reports as required including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee consideration.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
The successful candidate has experience with:
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Project Management methodologies including experience planning, scheduling and estimating of work to meet project requirements.
- Experience running Defence projects and/or developing project submissions for Government as well as knowledge of GEOINT capability development projects and mission systems.
- Experience in engaging across Defence department, Government, industry and academia. Knowledge of the space industry and academia.
- Experience in developing strategies to deliver innovative solutions, particularly in geospatial-intelligence. Understanding of innovative and cutting-edge science and technology, particularly in space developments, artificial intelligence and big data.
