Business Analyst
Large government agency requires a Business Analyst to define and manage requirements under limited direction.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for customer engagement, process modelling and development of system requirements. This position is responsible for the elicitation of business and technical requirements and the modelling of new and existing business requirements to inform ICT project delivery for a fast paced and dynamic business unit.
The Business Analyst will work independently within broad guidelines to contribute to multiple projects within the program. This will involve working with business stakeholders, project managers, system architects and delivery teams as required to elicit and communicate requirements for successful delivery.
The Business Analyst interprets the business needs and works with architects and system engineers to ensure the customers fundamental needs are understood at a basic level. The role is required to work with engineers and architects to satisfy business needs within the strategic technology direction of the department.
The program of work has multiple projects that vary in size. The successful candidate may be required to work across one or more of these projects.

Essential criteria
12 months + 1 x 12 Months Extension
Location of work and working arrangements
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work 5 days per week and up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. The role is Canberra based with minimal to no travel requirements.
Security clearance
Must have TSPV Security Clearance
Contract: 12 Months with 1 x 12 months extension
Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.

- providing leadership in stakeholder engagement and management of relationships with customers that have unique and often conflicting requirements and priorities
- model complex business processes
- work with product owners and project managers to streamline requirements and business change management process.
- work with the project management team to prioritise delivery of user requirements and manage risks to scope and schedule.
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of JIRA R4J requirements management software
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management relating to user requirements / user stories
- Demonstrable experience in complex business modelling
