About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you’ll be instrumental in bridging the gap between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are clearly defined and effectively translated into actionable solutions. You’ll work closely with users, developers, and project teams to document requirements, identify process improvements, and support solution design and testing.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT
Contract terms: 24 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.

About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you’ll be instrumental in bridging the gap between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are clearly defined and effectively translated into actionable solutions. You’ll work closely with users, developers, and project teams to document requirements, identify process improvements, and support solution design and testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Documenting functional and non-functional requirements using user stories, use cases, and workflows
- Conducting interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather insights and identify risks
- Managing requirements changes with a focus on business value and governance
- Supporting solution design and business acceptance testing
- Communicating requirements clearly to technical teams for accurate implementation
You’ll bring strong analytical and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders and translate business needs into technical outcomes. Your experience should include:
- Requirements Analysis – elicitation, documentation of user stories and use cases
- Stakeholder Engagement – excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Process Modelling – BPMN, flowcharts, gap analysis, SWOT analysis
- Testing Support – experience in planning and coordinating UAT
- Tool Proficiency – JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel
