Overview
Our client is currently seeking experienced Cyber Security Technical Training Professional to join their team. The work involves developing and managing delivery of hands-on cyber security training targeted at privileged users. The team is focused on the implementation and improvement of cyber security throughout government and works to help agencies turn IT security policy and strategy into practical and effective controls, processes and technical implementations.
They are looking for an experienced technical cyber security professional with significant experience in developing and delivering hands on training material and its supporting environment. You will have a strong commitment toward helping others improve their ability to better manage their cyber security through improving their cyber awareness and skills. The role involves reviewing, enhancing and managing the delivery of the Privileged User Training program to a broad range of government (and potentially other) stakeholders with diverse levels of cyber hygiene understanding and experience. The successful candidate will maintain and sustain the Privileged User Training course material and its cyber range and training environment.

Essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cyber security.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in penetration testing.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in either developing or delivering hands on technical training material and supporting environments, preferably aimed at privileged users covering culture, operational risk management and technical training such as hacking methodology, understanding security technology and log analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with technical stakeholders.
- Current or previous experience working in a technical IT discipline such as System Administration or Development.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate cyber security concepts to audiences with varying levels of cyber understanding, exposure and experience.
Desirable
- A general understanding and experience in using the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and how it is applied within government.
- A broad understanding of how Federal Government agencies function, particularly in technology related environments.
- Committed to supporting a respectful and inclusive workplace where it is safe for our people to bring their whole selves to work.
- Desire to improve Government security culture.
- Ability to work in and with multi-disciplinary teams.
- A self-starter requiring limited direction or supervision.
