The Role:
As an Enterprise Architect, you will provide expert leadership to help define and implement architecture standards and frameworks that promote integration, consistency and efficiency across the Department. You will collaborate directly with stakeholders to ensure that the Departments technology strategy supports the overarching mission of enhancing national security.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Provide strategic, technical leadership to the Departments enterprise, guiding the adoption and implementation of technology solutions in accordance with the Departments Digital Strategy.
• Provide strategic, technical leadership, ensuring the Community is aligned, achieving best return on government investment and enhancing its technical interoperability.
• Establish and maintain a robust governance framework for strategic architectural decision-making within the Department, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Offer expert technical advice and assurance to the senior leadership and decision-making bodies as required.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive overview of the Departments Enterprise Architecture, collating data to inform future architectural decisions, enhance resilience and identify dependencies within the Department.
• Lead and facilitate technical architecture forums for the Department, promoting collaboration and knowledge-sharing across technical teams.
• Collaborate with senior Department technologists to drive the development and endorsement of whole-of-organisation technology guiding principles, including delivery of essential architectural artefacts.
• Provide leadership, technical guidance and support to Department solutions architects.
• Represent the Department on international advisory and working groups, ensuring alignment with international technical and security standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in field of expertise.
• Formal training and demonstrated application of technical architecture methodology in one or more disciplines, including enterprise, solutions or network architecture.
• Demonstrated engagement skills, including ability to lead complex technical discussions to reach common understanding and agreement from a broad range of technical specialists.
• Excellent communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders.
• Experience working in one or more NIC agencies in a capability delivery capacity.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT. 12 month contract with 2x12-month extension option pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A TSPV security clearance is required.
