Our client, a large government department is seeking the expertise of ITC Project Managers across multiple upcoming projects. Current opportunities exist within the department’s corporate applications (including Enterprise Resource Planning), infrastructure platforms (including cloud hosting, migration, cyber security, data & analytics), software development, and more.

The estimated start date for this role is Thursday, 08 September 2022. The initial contract duration is 12 months, with 2 x 12-month extension options. This opportunity is based in the clients Canberra offices.
Please note: Some projects will offer working away from the office options which can be discussed further with the client, should your application progress. Other projects will require the successful candidate to be based in the Canberra office full time.

The successful candidates will:
- Manage the delivery of departmental project(s) following the department’s project management methodologies (such as Prince2, Agile, SAFe, hybrid).
- Provide guidance and leadership to a multi-disciplinary project team, third party vendors, and/or other departmental teams to deliver projects.
- Undertake project governance, including, but not limited to:
- project initiation and closure,
- scope, schedule, and delivery timeframe management,
- reporting and presenting to Senior Executives, Program/Project Boards, and other governance bodies,
- budget and financial management and reporting, and
- active management of risks and issues.
- Provide delivery capability across the broader programs of work as directed by the department and/or the Project Management Office.
Candidates will require skills and experience in:
- Successful management and delivery of ICT related projects and/or large corporate ICT transformation programs.
- Ability to adapt to and work across various delivery methodologies (such as waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Managing technical teams and partnering with multiple vendors to deliver outcomes under tight timeframes.
- Preparing and presenting reports, artefacts, and documentation for Project Boards, Senior Executives, and other governance bodies.
- High level people skills with the ability to build strong relationships and consult effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present and communicate information and expectations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Personal resilience and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities to successfully deliver under pressure within a challenging environment.
