About the role:
The EDW Lead Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, supporting, and administering data integration/ETL solutions, focusing on end-to-end batch and near real-time data flows. This role involves creating future-ready data solutions across industries, demonstrating expertise in data architectures, cloud platforms, ML/AI, and modern data governance. The engineer also supports consulting engagements, mentors junior consultants, and delivers Proof of Concepts. With over 5 years of IT experience, including hands-on development with tools like Informatica, DataStage, and Oracle ODI, the ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, cloud experience, and a solid understanding of high-availability solutions and containerization.
Mandatory Requirements:
This contract is expected to run for 2-3 years and exact contract arrangements can be discussed.
Located in Sydney, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Design, develop, test, and support cutting-edge data solutions across diverse industry verticals.
- Build and maintain end-to-end batch and near real-time data pipelines in ETL/data integration tools.
- Demonstrate expertise in data architectures, cloud platforms, big data, ML/AI, analytics, and data governance.
- Create and showcase Proof of Concepts and functional demos.
- Collaborate with internal and external consultants on workshops, consulting, and delivery engagements.
- Mentor junior IBM consultants in industry practices and delivery engagements.
- 5+ years of experience in solution design, development, testing, or support roles in IT Consulting.
- 3+ years of hands-on development, testing, support, and administration in ETL solutions (Informatica, IBM DataStage, Oracle ODI) on cloud and on-premises.
- Skilled in implementing industry best practices, design patterns, and technical solutions across data and non-data platforms.
- Experience building near real-time data pipelines and distributed streaming applications.
- Proficient in traditional ETL, data warehousing (Teradata), and BI solutions, with skills in Python, Scala, SQL, and shell scripting.
- Expertise in performance-sensitive, high-availability, and fault-tolerant solutions.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM) and modern data infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of containerization, virtualization, infrastructure, and networking.
- Versed in various project methodologies like Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related Engineering field.
- Holds one or more industry-recognized certifications.
