Overview
Our Government client is seeking an experienced Linux Site Reliability Engineers / Specialists who are looking to broaden their knowledge with a variety of technologies in an environment where security matters. These unique roles will allow you to work to your strengths while gaining experience in automation, open-source applications, systems and security controls uncommon in most Linux roles.
You will be responsible for design, development, automation, integration and some maintenance of on premise and hybrid cloud systems and applications in a mission-critical environment. You’ll work in an Agile team with a great group of Linux and Kubernetes specialists.

Location and Contract Term
This role is based in either ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA, or offsite, with an estimated start date of 19 August for 12 months with 3x 12 month extensions available.
Security Requirements
Applicants must be Australian Citizens who currently hold Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance minimum. Successful applicants are required to undertake an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) during the first year of their engagement to determine their suitability to work in a high security environment.

Essential
- Experience with Linux systems. Designing, Automating, Integrating with directory services, Securing and Maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux based servers. (Equivalent experience with Ubuntu servers is desirable).
- Experience maintaining systems using “Configuration as Code” for; Linux OS SOE and Application deployment, configuration deployment and system administration with git and automation tools, like Ansible, Terraform, Packer or equivalents. Experience working in an environment with a development focused workforce is desirable.
- Experience building and administering Linux systems and applications in hybrid or public cloud environments using native tooling, following DevOps practices.
- Experience with Linux container technologies (like Kubernetes), or in maintaining containers with Docker or Podman, or Cloud native technologies.

- Have a Federal Government NV1 clearance
- Have obtained an Occupational Suitability Assessment (0SA) in the recent past
