The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, with experience in overseeing both the strategic planning and hands-on execution of technology projects. Your expertise will ensure that the project is delivered successfully and meets all its strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and manage vendors to ensure their work aligns with project objectives and meets company standards.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies, incorporating important safety and compliance considerations to mitigate potential project risks.
- Oversee the development of both high-level and detailed technical designs, ensuring they fulfill the project’s requirements.
- Establish and lead the Management of Change (MoC) process by setting up frameworks and procedures to capture, assess, and approve changes to existing systems. This includes coordinating with stakeholders to identify changes early, document them properly, and prepare them for seamless implementation during the execution phase.
- Begin preparing systems and processes for the transition to operational status, ensuring that training programs, documentation, and operational procedures are thoroughly planned and ready for implementation.
- Lead the preparation and validation of project management plans, which include developing schedules, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Compile and review project documentation to ensure everything is ready for a smooth transition to the execution phase.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer within the technology or mining sectors.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Solid understanding of risk management, safety, and technical design processes.
- Expertise in coordinating with vendors and managing external partnerships.
- Experience in Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Experience with Operational Readiness planning and execution.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to oversee detailed technical and engineering processes.
- Proficiency in project management tools and documentation practices.
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills, capable of managing multiple stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
