The Role:
Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.
The Department requires an IDAM (ForgeRock) Engineer for this role.
Skills and Experience Required:
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT or NSW and Hybrid working arrangements are offered (2 days office, 3 days WFH) 6 month contract beginning on 1 July 2025.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required.

The Department requires an IDAM (ForgeRock) Engineer for this role.
- Support the delivery of a transformational new user registration process;
- Guidance and advice as part of the implementation of the transformational new user registration process;
- Work with Department SMEs on ForgeRock component configurations, service checks and ensure service stability for current and future workloads;
- Design, develop, test & implement identity management frameworks, systems and protocols;
- Develop, implement and manage IAM systems including: SSO, authentication and access controls to ensure security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of IAM systems and data.
- Develop and manage patterns for application deployment that manage security at every level.
- Ensure that all procured and / or developed IAM systems are implemented properly and function as intended.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of hands on experience with the ForgeRock Identity platform (including Access Management and Identity management modules)
- Experience working in a secure government environment (federal, state or similar)
- Extensive hands on experience with identity and access management, including;
- Open standards;
- Best practices and procedures; and
- Various software solutions.
- Design, implementation and maintenance experience with the ForgeRock product suite.
- Experience performing deployments in highly secure and highly available environments.
- Extensive experience in troubleshooting, identifying and resolving technical identity and access management related issues.
