Case manage complex matters as allocated in order to support members of the public exercise & their rights to information access and privacy and implement approaches to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
Manage and resolve complaints & conduct investigations and lead proactive regulatory compliance activities effectively and efficiently in accordance with relevant.
Manage projects including the development and publication of regulatory guidance.

This role can be performed from Sydney CBD – Hybrid working.

About the role:

Manage and resolve complaints & conduct investigations and lead proactive regulatory compliance activities effectively and efficiently in accordance with relevant.
Manage projects including the development and publication of regulatory guidance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, maintain and implement legal precedent and knowledge databases together with performance and quality control systems, processes and procedures to support in meeting its service delivery objectives.
- Plan, prioritise and manage a caseload of files within set timeframes to achieve quality outcomes and organisational goals.
- Make preliminary inquiries conduct interviews and onsite assessments in a professional manner and prepare regulatory reports and recommendations.
- Provide regular reports and advice to the Manager Investigation and Review and Director Investigation and Reporting on the status of complaints, investigations and regulatory initiatives and make recommendations regarding further or proactive regulatory intervention.
- Maintain effective working relationships with complainants and agencies through regular effective liaison and consultation; identify and implement early resolution strategies. Effectively case-manage matters and proactive regulatory initiatives into systemic or unique compliance issues, including oversight of quality assurance processes for reports and the exercise of delegations generally.
- Support the achievement of timeliness and quality standards by all team members to meet the challenges of a high volume, complex work environment.
- Perform a range of administrative and system activities to ensure the effective functioning of the team.
- Prepare clear project proposals and define scope and goals in measurable terms and undertake projects to facilitate improved agency compliance with legislative obligations including policies. Monitor the completion of project milestones against goals and initiate amendments where necessary. Evaluate progress and identify improvements to inform future projects.
- Managing a caseload and projects effectively and continually prioritising work to ensure time and quality standards are achieved through high quality research and analysis of identified legislation and policy to the facts of each case.
- Attending to more complex case management issues, in accordance with appropriate legislation and policies, coaching supervising and providing timely, constructive and objective feedback to team members in dealing in with challenging factual, legal or client situations a timely manner.
- Communicating regularly with external parties, including senior position holders to identify and facilitate early resolution on sometimes sensitive and controversial issues recognising wider business contexts.
- Local Government and/or legal experience is preferred.
