About the role:
We are seeking a Solution Architect – Infrastructure to lead the planning, design, and execution of a major data centre migration project. This role will be instrumental in transitioning legacy systems and cloud-based infrastructure into a modern hosting environment. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise architects, engineers, and external vendors to ensure seamless migration aligned with business and technical requirements.

This is a contract role commencing ASAP through to 30th June 2026, based in Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park, NSW, with on-site data centre visits as required. The hourly rate is $130–$145 p/Hour excl. GST.

We are seeking a Solution Architect – Infrastructure to lead the planning, design, and execution of a major data centre migration project. This role will be instrumental in transitioning legacy systems and cloud-based infrastructure into a modern hosting environment. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise architects, engineers, and external vendors to ensure seamless migration aligned with business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse current and future infrastructure architectures to ensure migration capability meets stakeholder and customer needs.
- Provide expert guidance on infrastructure technologies, network and system architecture, and best practices throughout the migration process.
- Develop comprehensive infrastructure designs aligned with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance standards.
- Ensure solutions align with strategic technology directions and are delivered within agreed timeframes.
- Collaborate with internal teams including architects, engineers, and developers to implement infrastructure solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth integration.
- Act as the lead technical representative, liaising with third parties and vendors, and ensuring delivery against SLAs and OLAs.
- Advocate for project solutions and communicate technical designs to stakeholders.
- Maintain alignment with enterprise standards, patterns, and strategic directions.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience across infrastructure domains including storage, backup, firewalls, cloud PaaS/SaaS, Microsoft technologies, and security controls.
- Strong understanding of solution design frameworks and modern IT system architecture.
- Proven ability to lead teams through technology transitions and adopt modern design methodologies.
- Background in cloud architecture, systems design, software development, infrastructure architecture, data engineering, or DevOps.
- In-depth knowledge of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, networking, zero-downtime migrations, IT security, and cloud operating models.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Infrastructure certifications are advantageous.
- Advanced communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience in facilitating workshops and resolving integration challenges.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and governance processes.
