About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in AWS and the AWS Landing Zone Accelerator to lead the design and execution of a large-scale cloud migration. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless application performance post-migration.
Key Responsibilities:
This is an 8-month contract based in Perth, WA, commencing as soon as available. You’ll lead a high-impact cloud migration project, shaping the future of enterprise infrastructure and enabling innovation through AWS.

About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in AWS and the AWS Landing Zone Accelerator to lead the design and execution of a large-scale cloud migration. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring seamless application performance post-migration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute the migration strategy from VMware to AWS using AWS Landing Zone Accelerator.
- Develop architecture diagrams, migration plans, and roadmaps for cloud transition.
- Ensure migrated applications meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and IT operations teams for integration and optimisation.
- Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for application migration.
- Implement secure and reliable AWS environments with multi-account setup.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to architects and engineers.
- Monitor post-migration application performance and resolve issues.
- Minimum 10 years as an Application Architect or similar role.
- Proven experience in large-scale cloud migrations.
- Extensive experience with AWS services: EC2, RDS, VPC, S3, Lambda, IAM.
- Strong knowledge of VMware technologies.
- Proficiency in cloud architecture patterns: microservices, serverless, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security in cloud environments.
- Experience with DevOps tools: CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or higher.
- Experience in migration strategy, tools, network requirements, and integration pathways.
- Additional AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Security – Specialty).
- Experience in regulated environments with a focus on data privacy and compliance.
- Understanding of WBS, estimation, migration risk, and dependency management.
