Our Federal Govt client requires and experienced Assistant Director for Unified Communications. Your will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled engineers, pivotal in the design, development and implementation of the Agency’s Unified Communication platforms. Working closely with the Director of Data Networks and Unified Communications, you will work collaboratively with ICT Operations and the Agency more broadly, at the fore front of technological advances. This includes developing, maintaining, and supporting all new and existing communications platforms.
As the Assistant Director, should have the ability to delegate tasks, as well as assist with key decisions on the development of the team and the Agency’s communication technology. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical people and have the right attitude towards adopting new technologies and expanding your professional knowledge. The position requires the ability to build positive relationship with key internal and external stakeholders.
Duties
The role is based in Canberra. The contract is for 12 months with an extension option of 12 months. The estimated start date is approx. 18 July.

Duties
- Lead a highly skilled technical team, responsible for the Agency’s Unified Communications Services delivering innovative ICT solutions.
- Communicate, build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
- Implementation of change technical management activities.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of an operating model that reflects new ways of working.
- Serve as a Unified Communications technology Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Lead the team through design, build, deployment and support the Agency’s communication solutions.
- Investigate complex technical problems assigned to the team and engage others to assist in addressing such problems.
- Engage with business stakeholders at all levels to manage service delivery, building strong relationships and managing service reviews.
- Foster a positive culture within the ICT Services Branch, aligned with Agency values.
- Demonstrated 5 years’ experience leading teams to deliver ICT services through ICT management frameworks such as ITIL
- Demonstrated experience working with Unified Communication Platforms and Microsoft 365 Services, with substantial project design and deployment experience.
- Demonstrated a strong commitment to meeting agreed work targets and standards.
- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to difficult and complex problems.
- Proven experience producing a range of documentation from simple work instructions to network designs.
- Proven ability to define successful new product requirements and implementation strategies.
- Experience working in Government or providing services to Government agency.
