About the Role
We are seeking multiple Lead ICT Security Specialists to oversee and enhance the security posture of critical ICT systems. This role involves managing infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking, and cloud environments, conducting complex technical assessments, and leading strategic initiatives to improve ICT security.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Brisbane QLD or Perth WA
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus two 12 month extensions at our clients discretion.
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.
Security Requirements: Our client requires a minimum NV1 security Clearance, however an active or reinstatable TSPV security clearance is strongly preferred. Candidate will be expected to complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) will be required for this position.

About the Role
We are seeking multiple Lead ICT Security Specialists to oversee and enhance the security posture of critical ICT systems. This role involves managing infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking, and cloud environments, conducting complex technical assessments, and leading strategic initiatives to improve ICT security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of ICT security strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments, business impact analyses, and assurance activities.
- Analyse and communicate complex security risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Guide and mentor junior staff, manage workflows, and ensure quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to shape security policy.
- Investigate and resolve security incidents and contribute to policy development.
- Ensure compliance with frameworks such as Essential Eight, ISM, and PSPF.
- IRAP Assessor certification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience across security architecture, risk management, network security, or operations
- Experience with SOPs and security accreditation frameworks
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field

Essential Criteria (SFIA Level 5):
- Security operations
- Information security
- Information assurance
- Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, and resilience
- Problem management
- Must be an Australian citizen with a current NV1, NV2, or PV clearance.
- Candidates with a Defence Intelligence Agency-recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) are highly preferred.
- Willingness to undergo an OSA, which includes a psychological assessment.
- Contract Duration: 12 months with two 12-month extension options
- Work Arrangements: Full-time (40 hours/week), with potential for flexible arrangements
- Commencement: Dependent on OSA outcome and recruitment lead time (approx. 3 months)
- Travel: Minimal to none
