The Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the Data Systems and Review team to:
- Within the context of grants management, analyse business processes, document requirements, and work with the team to design an efficient updated grant management operating model, business process flow (before baseline and after future state). Ensure detailed business process and models reflect specific stakeholder requirements, underpinned by workshop engagement with process owners.
- Work with technical ICT experts to translate business requirements, decisions and process impacts to the Executive, system delivery and business process Directors, as requirements are prepared, adjusted and signed off.
- Translate technical design impacts to a non-technical audience, explaining technical limits and system and process interdependencies.
- Produce process workflows Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) diagrams and activity tables describing detailed process steps for the future state.
- Produce data lineage artefacts and a data dictionary for the departments grant management systems.
- Document the wireframes for new reporting dashboard views.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to achieve outcomes, in line with best practice.
- Contribute to technical design artefact(s) for both system and reporting builds.
- Prepare business requirements and the master schedule template for a schedule management system.
- Establish and support management of a Data and Reporting Reference Group.
- Facilitate workshops and negotiate outcomes with influence to achieve an agreeable future state business process model.
- Work collaboratively with the Branch to improve data integrity and support the prioritisation of data, reporting and system improvements.
- Establish data, reporting and system change management processes.
- Assist with general reporting to the Executive on the progress of the project.
- Other duties in line with the EL1 Work Level Standard as directed.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Extensive experience preparing business analysis artefacts, process analysis and uplift.
- Experience preparing reporting wireframes and defining master schedule requirements.
- Experience in communicating complex concepts in simple English.
- Experience in business process and models for reporting system design.
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Visio and similar modelling software to achieve above outcomes.
- Awareness of Microsoft technologies including SharePoint Online and Power Automate.
- Contribute to costing processes.
- Work in a matrix management mode of operation, to provide staff direction or guidance to achieve delivery outcomes.
- Hold workshops and assist internal stakeholders with varying IT and data skill levels to understand the impacts and interdependencies of business processes enabled by system digitisation.
- Strong analytical and systems thinking skills to identify inter-related issues and concepts, and to select appropriate courses of action.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results, manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines, deliver work to a high standard, and respond flexibly.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to draft and present complex information in a clear, concise and articulate manner to diverse audiences.
