Looking for an NV1 Design Authority in Canberra.
12-month contract with possible extension.
This role will require an OSA assessment
As the Design Authority you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of technical resources responsible for the delivery of medium to large, highly complex ICT projects that meet organisational standards. Supporting the Project Manager, the Design Authority holds overall responsibility for the technical delivery stream.
Role Responsibilities
• Owns the technical design for the project and contributes to the delivery planning to ensure that the project goals can be met.
• Sets high level technical goals for teams that align with the project schedule.
• Ensures the timeliness and quality of capabilities delivered by technical resources.
• Interprets solution requirements to ensure solution alignment.
• Participates in the hiring process to ensure that suitable candidates are sourced to fill technical positions.
• Engages with senior client stakeholders on matters that encompass both business and technical areas.
• Develops and makes presentations both internally and to clients in support of project goals and that could lead to expanded business opportunities.
• Provides final sign-off on all technical deliverables.
Essential Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10 years + experience in a senior technical role.
• 5 years + experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Able to demonstrate a deep level of experience across a variety of technical disciplines.
• Demonstrable experience eliciting and interpreting technical requirements.
• Demonstrable experience writing and curating detailed technical documentation.
• Demonstrable experience making informed decisions on complex technical issues that may carry significant project cost.
• Experience presenting complex technical solutions to large audiences.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good creative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members, clients, and company management.
• Good human relations and leadership skills to train, guide, motivate and mentor the work of project personnel.
• Negotiation skills to participate in new business development opportunities.
• Good understanding of modern software engineering processes and procedures including CI/CD
methodologies.
• Experience with network operations and management, either as part of an operational team or through previous projects delivering relevant capabilities.
• Willingness to travel.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and context switch quickly.
• Ability to manage medium sized technical delivery projects.
• Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary IT infrastructure development team.
• Ability to understand the impact of complex issues at a project level and convey information to non-technical personnel.
