Are you a skilled Level 2/3 Support Engineer with a passion for secure, standalone network environments? We’re seeking a proactive and experienced professional to support a high-security Defence network in Melbourne.
About the Role: You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting a discreet standalone network, working closely with Commonwealth personnel. This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring strong technical capability across Windows environments, security compliance, and ticket management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve Windows Standard Operating Environment (SOE)
- Manage updates and patching via SCCM across servers and workstations
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain data
- Review and remediate vulnerabilities in line with Commonwealth guidance
- Support PXE builds and remote OS deployment
- Assist with implementation of ASD/ACSC Essential 8 security measures
- Provide hardware support and lifecycle assessments
- Ensure compliance with the Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Participate in structured asset audits
- Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
- Manage service requests, incidents, and problems using internal tools
- AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (minimum)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Proven experience in Level 2/3 technical support roles
- Strong knowledge of Windows server environments, SCCM, AD, and GPO
- Understanding of Australian Government cyber security frameworks
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
