About the Role
As an Associate Software Developer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative software solutions that support national security objectives. You’ll be involved in designing, building, integrating, and documenting software capabilities, while also supporting system administration and automation efforts.

About the Role
As an Associate Software Developer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering innovative software solutions that support national security objectives. You’ll be involved in designing, building, integrating, and documenting software capabilities, while also supporting system administration and automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate software solutions that meet business requirements.
- Document technical processes and promote knowledge sharing.
- Assist with automation and integration of commercial and government software.
- Monitor systems and troubleshoot issues.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and produce detailed design documentation.
- Languages/Frameworks: Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, J2EE, Django, Ruby
- Tools: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Puppet, Ansible, Docker
- Services: RESTful APIs, Java Messaging Service
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate experience and capability across several technical domains, including:
- Programming/software development
- Application support
- Release and deployment
- Testing
- System software
- Contract Duration: 12 months with two 12-month extension options
- Locations: Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD, Melbourne VIC, or Perth WA
- Work Arrangements: Full-time (40 hours/week), with potential for flexible arrangements
- Commencement: Dependent on OSA outcome and recruitment lead time (approx. 3 months)
- Travel: Minimal to none
