Seeking a User Experience Designer, who will provide specialist design, user research and user testing capability for the improvement of digital services and the customer experience, as part of an agile delivery team
The Role:
The successful candidate will partner with Industry’s Service Experience team to:
• Conduct user research and gather user needs and business requirements, identifying opportunities for service improvement
• Co-design proposed solutions developing prototypes that address user needs and provide a seamless experience
• Carry out user testing, gathering qualitative and quantitative data, to validate proposed solutions and iterate designs accordingly.
• Build service team capability in carrying out user research, experience design activities and addressing accessibility (WCAG 2.0 compliance) requirements.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in conducting user research and developing user journeys, customer experience maps, succinct reports identifying service improvements
- Develops artefacts to make service improvement opportunities tangible for multiple audiences
- Ability to work with stakeholders and service delivery teams to facilitate consensus on business objectives and prioritised user needs
- Communicate with influence and have the ability to break down barriers and effect change
- Solid expertise in human centred design processes and design thinking methodologies
- Ability to co-design and collaborate with service delivery teams on the design of systems, features and solutions that solve identified issues
- Develop wireframes, annotations and user experience maps
- Experience developing low and high fidelity prototypes which are functional
- Experience using prototyping software such as Axure, Invision, Figma etc.
- Ability to plan, prepare and conduct user testing activities, and analyse and present results as actionable items
- Experience in applying accessibility (WCAG 2.0 guidelines) standards to the design of products and services
Nice-to-have skills and experience:
- Experience in working within Agile teams
- Experience working within government
- Visual design or communication design experience with an eye for detail
- Motion / animation experience with the ability to construct seamless interactions through functional modern effects, transitions and animations that contribute to the emotional experience
- Knowledge of analytics and SEO
- An understanding of UI workflow tools and frameworks
Canberra based
Contract Term -14 Month Contract with 12 Months extension options
Security Requirements- Applicants must be Australian Citizens. Baseline Security Clearance required
