The Role:
Seeking experienced Business Analysts to assist in the delivery of multiple projects within the Department. Some of these projects rely on Identity & Access Management (IAM) functions and require clear and concise Identity Access Management requirements to be established. There is also a requirement for experienced Business Analysts to assist the Department on the Cyber Hub Program of work within the Cyber Engagement and Delivery Section. Delivery of these requirements is critical to facilitate seamless access and authentication to multiple systems based on both traditional and contemporary methods.
Key Duties:
Working in collaboration with multiple ICT project teams in order to deliver the business requirements for authentication and access processes for various systems; Working in a section with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the requirements; Meeting with decision makers, systems owners, other Business Analysts, technical stakeholders and end users to define business requirements, and system goals; Creating models, use cases, process flows, diagrams and requirements specifications, to provide direction and support to projects; Reviewing and analysing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and assisting with developing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems; Creating business requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis; Conducting walkthrough and showcases on the prepared requirements specifications with internal and external stakeholders in order to gain endorsements on the requirements, identifying, validating and defining cyber services for client agencies; Undertaking gap analysis of service requirements against existing business processes, capabilities and technologies; Ensuring the design and delivery of services aligns with the expectations set by the Hardening Government IT (HGIT) Initiative and Cyber Hub Program; Drawing the connection between business requirements, ICT capability and processes.
Skills and Experience Required:
1.Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working as a Business/Systems Analyst across government agencies including relevant formal qualifications and proven experience.
2.Demonstrated experience in gathering and documenting clear functional business requirements, along with strong problem solving and communication skills to consult, analyse and remediate business critical issues.
3.Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable by way of documentation, including the ability to document use cases and system diagrams.
4.Experience in preparing and presenting information for a range of audiences.
5.Proven reliability, proactive team player, effective time management skills and ability to keep stakeholders and supervisors appropriately informed on progress of work tasks/priorities and any issues in meeting timelines.
6.Strong attention to details and ability to document technical requirements using plain and simple English writing styles through deliverables.
Location and Contract Term: This is a Canberra based role. Contract till 30 June 2023 with 2 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A baseline security clearance is required for this role.
