Background
The Corporate and Governance Section operates within the Information Technology Branch and are the primary owners and administrators of all corporate IT responsibilities, including procurement, contract management, resourcing, governance, financial management, and processing/invoice payment.
Job Description: The IT Procurement Finance Officer is considered a more junior administration and processing-based role to Position 1, with the successful applicant required to assist in the processing and creation of procurement system approvals, contract and vendors entries, invoicing, and time recording in the Department’s custom SAP-based Procure To Pay system. For clarification, there may be an element of contribution to procurement advisory, however the role predominantly requires financial management and processing acumen.
Necessary Experience/Qualifications: Basic knowledge of the chief tenets of Commonwealth procurement are required (CPRs, PGPA, etc.), however the resource will liaise primarily with internal stakeholders from a processing perspective. Administration and processing in a Commonwealth / Private Sector financial management system are essential requirements, as is the ability to think critically and interrogate documentation elements that may be incorrect. The role requires a keen eye for detail, processing/administration acumen, and an ability prioritise workloads based on demand and direction.
Contract Terms - the successful applicant to be offered roles as non-ongoing APS officers for a period of six months with further engagement subject to internal approval and ongoing performance.
Security Requirements - Applicants must be Australian Citizens to apply. A baseline security clearance is preferred or the ability to obtain.
