About the role:
The SAP Basis Consultant will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of SAP systems across the client’s landscape. This includes system upgrades, performance tuning, security management, and technical support. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to lead smaller projects while mentoring junior team members.

This contract is available for an initial 6–12 month term with likely extensions. There is potential for permanency with the client. The role requires 5 days on-site due to security requirements and is available in all capital cities!

About the role:
The SAP Basis Consultant will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of SAP systems across the client’s landscape. This includes system upgrades, performance tuning, security management, and technical support. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to lead smaller projects while mentoring junior team members.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Execute SAP system upgrades and implementations with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support and troubleshoot complex SAP Basis issues.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks, applying tuning measures as needed.
- Manage SAP security settings and user administration in compliance with industry and legal standards.
- Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures, ensuring regular validation.
- Lead smaller SAP Basis projects and mentor junior consultants.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of SAP systems, configurations, and processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements and providing regular updates on project progress and risks.
- In-depth understanding of SAP Basis administration, including system monitoring, performance tuning, security, and backup/recovery.
- Proven experience in SAP system upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading small projects and mentoring team members.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration (SAP NetWeaver or SAP HANA).
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools for SAP environments.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Must have an active AGSVA Baseline Clearance; NV1 preferred or eligibility to obtain one.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Mandatory on-site presence 5 days per week.
