Seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience in the delivery of integrated COTS solutions for large scale geospatial data search, discover and exploit.

Contract: 12 Months Contract with 2 x 12 months extension options
Security Required: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 2
Location - Canberra Based- Hybrid - Flexible working arrangements provided for the successful candidate, with hybrid arrangements to be considered.

Key duties and responsibilities
- Develop software throughout all stages of the software development life cycle.
- Design software applications and components that satisfy both functional and non-functional requirements. Conduct analysis of impacts and trade-offs of different design options.
- Design systems that satisfy requirements.
- Lead the release of software packages. This will involve assessing risks, communicating progress, and deploying into the production environment.
- Conduct software configuration activities.
- Monitor the environment for emerging technologies that could improve our systems.
- Provide professional advice on the implementation of new software and procedures in our organisation.
- Write documentation and provide expert knowledge according to business needs.
- Implement systems integration projects involving automation, CI/CD, and external API integrations.
- Develop and execute test plans and test cases. Select the most appropriate testing approach to use.
- Implementing and complying with Australian Government and Defence security and information management requirements.
