About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (EL1 equivalent) to lead complex ICT infrastructure initiatives. You will be responsible for the full systems engineering lifecycle including requirements development, system definition, design, integration, verification, and validation. The role demands a strategic thinker who can work independently and collaboratively across multiple tranches of work, delivering high-impact solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT or Bendigo, VIC.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.

- Developing systems engineering documentation and contributing to project planning.
- Engaging stakeholders to understand business needs and provide architectural guidance.
- Driving continuous improvement and resolving technical challenges during capability development.
The Successful Candidate
To be considered, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen with a current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance.
- Be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA), which includes a psychological evaluation.
- Demonstrate strong technical leadership in IT infrastructure, system design, installation, and integration.
- Possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Highly desirable:
- Experience with ICT infrastructure projects.
- A current Defence Intelligence Agency-recognised OSA.
