The Role:
The successful candidate will undertake a technical assessment of applications from telecommunications carriers and carriage service providers who are seeking DREVs, having regard to the legislative criteria for exemptions. They will also assist in providing technical guidance and training to build the future capacity of the team. Project management and administrative decision-making will be undertaken by existing Department staff.
The role requires knowledge and experience of the telecommunications industry, systems and technology. The successful candidate will preferably have experience undertaking a telecommunications engineering role or similar, and will be familiar with telecommunications and network system design, terminology and regulations. An ability to work independently and to communicate clearly (both orally and in writing) are also required.
Skills and Experience Required:
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT, Remote working conditions will be considered. Contract from June 2025 to October 2025 with 1 x 3-month contract extension pending budget and delegate approval
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required.
